Alynna spent 16 years teaching Chinese in a mainstream MOE school before she started working directly with families. Her focus: kids from English-speaking homes, where Chinese is often the one subject no one at home can really help with.
For this run, she's asking the questions and reviewing the reading and answers your child gives, herself, like an examiner - and recording her assessment and explanations so you can watch alongside your child.
Pick your child's level, P3–P5, and pay $129. Only 5 slots this run, first come first served.
Three oral practices, each with Reading Aloud and Picture Description & Conversation, selected for your child's level.
You receiveDone at home, on the timeline that Alynna sets when the run starts.
Submission deadlinesEvery reading and answer assessed like an examiner, plus a 15-minute recorded walkthrough of what to fix and how to say it better - returned to you paper by paper.
At the end of the run, a 15-minute report with Alynna's observations on your child's performance, plus specific tips for the oral exam.
Delivered digitallyHere are all the things included in the run when you book a slot. The underlying methodology is simple: follow a practice routine, have your child's oral practice assessed and mistakes explained clearly, and learn how to do better for the real exam.
Handpicked by Alynna at your child's level - Primary 3–5. Each covers Reading Aloud, plus Picture Description & Conversation (Video & Stimulus-Based Conversation for P5).
Every reading and answer assessed the way an examiner would - not left to a parent's best guess.
For each paper, Alynna walks through your child's actual mistakes and how to say it better. If there's more than 15 minutes' worth, she'll cover the ones that matter most.
At the end of the run, Alynna provides you with her observations about your child's performance, as well as specific tips on what to look out for during the oral exam.
Regular oral practice is still one of the best ways to get your child exam-ready - real passages, real picture prompts, real exposure to the kind of questions they'll be asked. Having someone listen properly is critical - if no one can tell what needs fixing, the same mistakes just get repeated. Assessing the reading and answers accurately, the way a qualified teacher and examiner would, is essential - and it's the part you as a parent were never trained for.
You will have to wait for the run to begin at the start of the month. In the meantime, you should log in to your run dashboard to get familiar with it and see what to expect next.
Alynna will set the respective deadlines in a staggered manner, across the entire run (~15-21 days) - so that there will be enough time for your child to review the previous practice before attempting the next.
Yes, please. The deadlines function as a practice routine that your child can follow. Alynna has also planned her schedule around the deadlines. So if you miss a deadline, Alynna will still review the practice but may not be able to provide the explanation video.
The timing for each part is indicated in the dashboard (as per exam standards). Alynna strongly recommends that your child attempts it with a mindset and environment that mimics a dry-run - a quiet room with no distractions, in one go, and speaking every part as they would on the day.
You will see alerts in your run dashboard and you will also receive email notifications regarding the key milestones within the run.
You can join the waitlist and we'll let you know if more slots are made available as well as give you early access for the next one that opens for registration. Slots are limited on purpose: this is so that Alynna can allocate the right amount of time & attention to your child's practice.
