Who's marking & explaining your child's paper

Meet 林老师, Alynna.

林老师 · Alynna
Chinese Language Teacher
Ex‑MOE Chinese teacher16 years in the classroomSpecialises in teaching Chinese to English‑dominant kids

Alynna spent 16 years teaching Chinese in a mainstream MOE school before she started working directly with families. Her focus: kids from English-speaking homes, where Chinese is often the one subject no one at home can really help with.

For this run, she's marking the practices your child does, herself, by hand - and recording the corrections and explanations so you can watch alongside your child.

What's included

One slot. All inclusive.

Here are all the things included in the run when you book a slot. The underlying methodology is simple: follow a practice routine, have your paper marked and mistakes explained clearly, and learn how to do better for the real exam.

01

3 past-year practices

Handpicked by Alynna from real school papers at your child's level - Primary 2–6.

02

Full marking, by hand

Every question marked the way a school would - not based on an answer key that was created by someone unqualified.

03

15-min correction video

Alynna walks through your child's actual mistakes and how to fix them. If there's more than 15 minutes' worth, she'll cover the ones that matter most.

04

5-min exam insights

What tends to come up again for this paper type and level - the patterns worth your child's attention.

Why your child will benefit from this

Getting your child to do the paper was never the hard part.

Past-year papers are still one of the best ways to get your child exam-ready - real questions, real exposure, real odds in their favour. Marking it the right way is critical - low quality answer keys result in low quality corrections. Explaining the mistakes accurately, the way a qualified teacher would, is essential - and it's the part you as a parent were never trained for.

Marking it yourself as a parent
  • Finding the time to mark every question, every paper, on top of everything else.
  • Even when you do, knowing an answer is "wrong" isn't the same as knowing how to explain why.
  • Schools don't publish answer keys - the one in your assessment book was written by whoever published it, not MOE or your child's school.
  • The papers you buy yourself have no deadline - easy to buy, easy to let sit half-done in a drawer.
With Alynna marking
  • Alynna marks it by hand, the way an examiner would.
  • Every real mistake gets a recorded explanation - why it's wrong, and exactly how to get it right - rewatchable anytime.
  • Marked the way an MOE-trained teacher knows schools actually expect - not someone else's best guess.
  • Explained clearly and simply enough for any child to follow along - even if they are weak in the subject.
  • A submission deadline for each paper - so completing it becomes a goal, not just three more papers sitting in a drawer.
  • One run - no long-term commitment, no recurring fees, but an excellent supplement to tuition.
Questions parents ask

The finer details about this run.

What happens after I book a run?

You will have to wait for the run to begin at the start of the month. In the meantime, you should log in to your run dashboard to get familiar with it and see what to expect next.

When are the submission deadlines for each practice?

Alynna will set the respective deadlines in a staggered manner, across the entire run (~15-21 days) - so that there will be enough time for your child to review the previous practice before attempting the next.

Do I need to follow the submission deadlines?

Yes, please. The deadlines function as a practice routine that your child can follow. Alynna has also planned her schedule around the deadlines. So if you miss a deadline, Alynna will still mark the paper but may not be able to provide the explanation video.

How long should I give my child to complete the paper?

This is indicated in the dashboard (as per exam standards). Alynna strongly recommends that your child attempts the paper with a mindset and environment that mimics a dry-run - no distractions, in one sitting, and attempt every question.

How will I know when a new practice is ready or a paper has been marked/explained?

You will see alerts in your run dashboard and you will also receive email notifications regarding the key milestones within the run.

What if a run is full?

You can join the waitlist and we'll let you know if more slots are made available as well as give you early access for the next one that opens for registration. Slots are limited on purpose: this is so that Alynna can allocate the right amount of time & attention to your child's work.
